Curved stairlifts are stairlifts (or chairlifts) that can accommodate a staircase which is not straight through its ascent.
These fit most staircases, straight, curved or even spiral. When installed on the inside stairway path, your stairs remain accessible for your family and friends.
You can save extra space at the top and bottom of the stairs with a parking bend; the chair is parked around the corner, out of the way.
We can give you rough estimates over the phone, but we would have to see the stairs to be 100% accurate.
Yes. A new straight stairlift, supplied and installed with a 2 year warranty, is €1,990 + VAT, and reconditioned straight stairlifts start from €1,200. Curved stairlifts are priced to the staircase, so we can give a rough range over the phone and a firm price after a free home survey.
Many customers tell us the Housing Adaptation Grant or Mobility Aids Grant takes six to twelve months from application to approval. If you cannot wait that long, a straight stairlift can be fitted within a day or two as a private purchase, or rented on a monthly plan until the grant is decided.
We keep straight stairlifts in stock and can usually deliver and install the same day or the next day. Curved stairlifts are made to measure and take two to five weeks from the date the deposit is received. Call us on 045 892696 and tell us the discharge date so we can plan around it.
Most narrow or steep staircases can take a stairlift. The rail fixes to the stair treads, not the wall, and the seat, arms and footplate fold away so the stairs stay clear for everyone else in the house. A free home survey confirms which model suits your stairs.
Yes. The stairlift rail is fixed to the stair treads, not to the wall, so the construction of the wall makes no difference to the installation.
No. Installation is included in our price and usually takes a few hours. A stairlift carries a person up and down stairs, so it must be fitted and tested by a trained engineer, and a self-installed lift is not covered by warranty.
A stairlift suits someone who can get on and off a seat and is the quicker, lower cost option. A through floor lift carries a wheelchair, and often a carer too, from one floor to the next, so it suits wheelchair users or anyone who wants to future-proof the home. We supply both and can advise at a free home survey.
