Fitting Dublin homes from our Trinity Street office since 1999

What we install across Dublin city and county

Stairlifts, Ramps, Wet Rooms and Rails

Irish Stairlifts has an office at 6 Trinity Street in Dublin 2 and fitters working across all four Dublin council areas every day: Dublin City, Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. From Rush and Swords in the north to Tallaght, Dundrum and Shankill in the south, we survey stairs, steps, bathrooms and gardens in one visit and quote them on one sheet.

Most Dublin enquiries reach us from a son or daughter, often living abroad, organising things for a parent after a fall or a hospital stay. Send us the address and the occupational therapist’s report and we will arrange the survey directly with your parent and send the quote to you.

Straight lifts fitted from stock the same or next day, curved lifts made to measure in two to five weeks, and reconditioned lifts from €1,200.

Concrete ramps to the front and back door at a 1:20 gradient where space allows, with level platforms, edgings and handrails.

Steps rebuilt with deeper treads and lower risers, and wall or ground mounted rails running from the door to past the bottom step.

Level access showers, wet rooms and full bathroom conversions, built to the OT report and quoted in the format the council asks for.

A home lift for a wheelchair user, and often a carer, when a stairlift is not the answer. We quote both so you can compare price and timeline.

Emergency stairlift repairs across Dublin, annual servicing, and straight advice when an older lift is obsolete and a replacement makes more sense.

Council grants in Dublin

Four Councils, One Application Form

Dublin has four local authorities and each runs the Housing Adaptation Grant, the Mobility Aids Grant and Housing Aid for Older People for its own area. Which council you apply to depends on the address of the house, and every one of them uses the same national application form.

They all ask for the same things: the form, a doctor’s certificate, an occupational therapist’s report for stairlifts and lifts, proof of income, and an itemised contractor quote. We give the quote in that format, and if the OT report lists a stairlift, a ramp and a bathroom, we put all three on one sheet.

Dublin City Council: 01 222 2195, homegrants@dublincity.ie. Fingal: 01 890 5587, housinggrants@fingal.ie. South Dublin: 01 414 9373, hgrants@sdublincoco.ie. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown: 01 271 3110, housinggrants@dlrcoco.ie. Amounts and income limits are in our grants guide.

Materials, labour and VAT itemised on one sheet, matched to the OT report, ready to go in with the form.

Send us the grant letter and the OT list and we build to it. One visit covers stairs, steps, garden and bathroom.

A straight stairlift can be rented month to month or bought reconditioned from €1,200 while the application is processed.

Questions Dublin Families Ask Us

The questions we hear most from people in Dublin, usually a son or daughter organising things for a parent.

Ergo curved stairlift on a bending staircase

All of Dublin city and county. Our fitters are in Swords, Malahide, Rush and Skerries in the north, Blanchardstown, Finglas, Glasnevin, Clontarf and Raheny across the city, Ballsbridge, Rathmines, Terenure and Crumlin on the south side, Tallaght, Clondalkin, Lucan and Rathcoole in South Dublin, and Dundrum, Stillorgan, Blackrock, Dún Laoghaire and Shankill every week.

Our Dublin office at 6 Trinity Street, Dublin 2 is for appointments and enquiries. The full showroom, where you can sit on the stairlifts, walk through the shower rooms and try scooters, is in Clane, Co. Kildare, about 40 minutes from the M50. Call 01 616 7079 to book either.

Straight stairlifts are carried in stock and are usually fitted the same day or the next day. Curved stairlifts are made to measure and take two to five weeks from the date the deposit is received. If someone is being discharged from hospital, tell us the date and we plan around it.

Yes. We repair and service the lifts we supply, and when a model is obsolete and parts are no longer made we tell you straight and quote a replacement. If you qualify, that quote is itemised for a council repair or adaptation grant application.

Yes, and in Dublin we are asked to more often than anywhere else. One surveyor measures the stairs, the front and back steps, the garden and the bathroom, and you get one itemised quote covering all of it, which is what the council wants when the OT report lists more than one adaptation.
